How Advil Compares

Advil Liquid Capsules and Advil Tablets

To understand the effectiveness of Advil, it’s important to first understand how an orally administered analgesic works.

An analgesic taken in a tablet form such as Advil Tablets must first be broken down into smaller particles and then solubilized in the stomach. It is then absorbed from the intestinal tract into the bloodstream.

Advil Liquid Capsules’ advanced patented technology enables the capsule to break down shortly after coming into contact with the stomach. Because Advil’s liquid ibuprofen is already in a solubilised form, it is absorbed into the bloodstream faster than regular Advil Tablets.

Once absorbed, the drug is distributed throughout the body to provide FAST pain relief.

Advil Rapid Release and Advil Tablets

Advil Rapid Release Tablet is designed to help provide rapid relief on the go. Unlike Advil Tablet and Advil Liquid Capsules, Advil Rapid Release comes in a unique and handy carry bottle. While Advil Tablet has standard ibuprofen, and Advil Liquid Capsules has solubilised ibuprofen, Advil Rapid Release Tablet has an ibuprofen sodium core enclosed in an ultra-thin film coating that starts to dissolve immediately. Compared to Advil Tablet, Advil Rapid Release Tablet is absorbed 2x faster. Advil pain relief doesn't get any faster than Advil Rapid Release.

Advil 12 Hour Extended Release Tablets

Advil 12 Hour Extended Release Tablets provides the longest lasting relief of the Advil range - Up to 12 hours pain relief with just one tablet.

Advil 12 Hour Extended Release Tablets is a bi-layer tablet. The first layer dissolves quickly to relieve pain fast. The second layer is a sustained-release layer providing long lasting relief of persistent pain for up to 12 hours.
